My Approach
Counselling with Jen aims to not only address the immediate mental health concerns of women but to also facilitate long-term healing and personal growth.
My therapeutic approach is relational, and trauma informed. This approach recognises the profound impact of trauma on psychological and physical well-being, emphasising safety, trustworthiness, and empowerment in the therapeutic relationship. Feeling safe fosters open communication, validates experiences, and empowers women to reclaim their narratives.
My focus is less on what’s wrong with you and more on recognising your strengths and capacity for recovery.
Long term healing from trauma takes time. Most people will have developed defenses and protections to help them cope, and so I will take time to work with those defenses and support you to develop new ways of coping and move towards healing.
Consultations
I offer face-to-face counselling sessions at my Office in the north-east of Adelaide, South Australia, as well as Telehealth sessions Australia wide.
Important: At this time, we only provide therapy for women who live in Australia.
Introductory Phone Consultation
For individuals considering counselling but uncertain about my specific services, I offer an introductory phone call of up to 15 minutes.
The purpose is a brief mutual assessment to determine if my service aligns with the level of support you need. This also serves as an opportunity for you to ask questions.
Following this conversation, the decision to proceed with booking an initial appointment rests entirely with you.
Our Pricing
I believe that access to support shouldn’t be out of reach.
That’s why all my counselling fees are set at affordable rates.
If you’re going through financial hardship, please feel free to reach out.
I’m more than happy to discuss flexible options or offer a discounted rate where needed.
Your wellbeing comes first.
You do not need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP for an appointment.
We do not offer Medicare rebates or private health rebates at this stage.
